Mommy tried to get all four of us in the picture, but Dinky didn't cooperate! Since I've been practicing my reading, I chose the right stocking, so I get to write the Christmas post :)

Dinky showed up to see what was in his stocking, but Zoe and Tia had already nabbed all the biscuits. Mommy gave us another one after we finished with our stocking though :)

Tia checked out Dinky's stocking.

Zoe and I had a wonderful first Christmas. We had nice big bowls of chicken for dinner and are planning some serious play time with our new toys before bed.

Mommy put us in charge of the Christmas cards this year and this is what we created.

We've been extra good little Chihuahuas this year so are very excited to see what Santa Paws will bring us in our stockings. We'll post Christmas pictures this weekend.

Zoe talks about Thanksgiving 2010

We all enjoyed our week with Mommy home! I shared Mommy with the others very nicely most of the time. I avoided getting spayed (at least for the time being) because the vet says I have something called a heart arrhythmia. I might have to go to a specialist or even get a pacemaker. Since the vet said I didn't have it before, he is going to check me out again next month and see what's going on. I know Mommy is worried about me, especially since she's worrying about Daddy's medical issues now too, but I gave her extra cuddles and nose licks to make her feel better.

We did take time to be thankful for Mommy and Daddy who love us and pamper us and give us lots of food and treats, our nice warm beds, our toys, and each other. Wolfie and I are especially lucky to have been rescued and have such a wonderful life with our sister Tia and brother Dinky. Mommy says Christmas is next and it is Wolfie and my first Christmas so I know it will be very special!

Although Zoe and Wolfgang were rescues, pet owners will be able to relate to the fact that most days, my dogs rescue ME.

Summer Update from Zoe

I won the right to do the next blog entry and I'm quite excited to be here speaking to all you wonderful people in Internet-land. I am Zoe Esmeralda Chihuahua and I just celebrated my first birthday in May. Mommy says that the four of us will be taking turns writing the blog and posting pictures here since the web site it taking her too much time. All our friends see our pictures on Facebook now so we can keep you up-to-date with everything else about us here.

We've been VERY busy today barking at the fireworks. Tia doesn't bark at them but the rest of us sure do!! Mommy calls us her little quartet! In between barking, we have lots of playing to do, especially now that Wolfgang can run and play with us again!

A few words from Zoe!

I'm SO excited I get to write an entry in the blog!! Now that Tia and I are best friends, she gave me permission to write a WHOLE entry myself :)

I love my new home. I still haven't had a chance to play with all the toys. And the food here is just yummy, especially the chicken I get every night for dinner. Mommy says I'm getting a fat pad but I told her it's just my grown-up fur starting to grow in :)

I've been very busy with lots of projects. There are these wonderful containers full of arts and crafts supplies scattered throughout the house and I love making selections from those as I plan my next project. Paper towels and drink bottle caps are two of my favorite items to incorporate into my works of art.

Wolfgang's Surgery and Recovery

Dinky, Zoe and I are taking extra good care of Wolfie after his surgery to fix his broken leg. Zoe is taking her turn watching over him in this picture.

Mommy and Daddy had to take him to a special doctor that operated on his leg and did all kinds of stuff to make it heal. Mommy said he had a bone graft, and a plate and pins put in his leg so that he could get well. He can't run and play with us for three whole months :(

I think he looks like a little flower in this collar he has to wear when Mommy or Daddy aren't holding him. He's been an extra-good Chihuahua during all this and we're all impressed with how brave he is.

We are glad Wolfie is back home with us and we can't wait until he is all well and can run Chihuahua races with us again! We love you Wolfie!!

Welcome Zoe and Wolfgang

Wow, we have had a busy weekend! On Friday, Mommy got a call from our vet asking her if she would take two Chihuahuas whose mommy was too sick to take care of them anymore. We had a family meeting and Dinky and I agreed that we should share our nice home with them. So, now we have a new brother and sister!

Zoe Esmeralda (formerly Ella) is a long-haired Chihuahua like me! I think we're going to be best-girlfriends soon. We haven't played together yet, but we sit on Mommy and Daddy together and sniff each other.

She's still a baby, only eight months old, so she plays LOTS. She knows I'm in charge though, so I think we'll get along just fine! Mommy said Zoe weighs just over 3 pounds, so I'm still the biggest AND the oldest :)

Wolfgang Amadeus (formerly Mocha) is a short-hair Chihuahua and Dinky is excited that his new brother Wolfie is even smaller than he is at 2.4 pounds! He's only 7 months old though so he might catch up to Dinky's 3 pound weight. Dinky isn't quite sure what to do with his new role as "big brother" since he's always been the baby of the family.

We have to take extra good care of Wolfie since he is recovering from a broken leg that didn't heal right after he got dropped. We have the best vet in the whole world though, so we know he'll do okay.

Watch for pictures of our new sister and brother on our web page soon! We know their last mommy must have loved them very much to make the sacrifice of giving them up so they'd have the care they needed. They are both going to be loved and treasured by our Mommy and Daddy and by me and Dinky for the rest of their lives.

Oh Boy . . . Christmas stockings!

We had a wonderful Christmas and since we were very good little Chihuahuas all year, Santa Paws brought us lots of treats.

I didn't get the side of beef I asked for but Mommy said it was too heavy for Santa's sleigh. Dinky wanted a baby brother (or sister) and he didn't get that either, although Mommy says maybe this summer. We did get toys and treats that we enjoyed and we shared our new toys nicely. We even got some tidbits of ham for dinner!

We want to wish all our readers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Remember to want what you have. We are blessed to have parents who adore us, food in our bowls, and a warm bed to sleep in every night.

Dinky's 3rd Birthday!!

I had an awesome 3rd birthday!! I'm having a little taste of the icing on my cake and thinking about the wish I made when I blew out my candles . . .

Tia and I each got some of the cake and a little scoop of ice cream too. Yum!!

I got my very own squirrel, just like Tia's that I'm always stealing when she isn't looking! Thank you for my new toy, Tia. I love squirrels. Uh, can I have my new squirrel back now, please????

I'm just checking out the new squirrel to make sure it is okay for you Dinky, honest. I'll give it back in just a minute . . . just like you do when you take MY squirrel.

Okay, squirrel you are safe with me now and Tia can't get you. Maybe I'll let her play with you sometimes. She HAS let me play with her squirrel so that seems fair.

Now I have to think about what to get Tia for HER birthday next month.

What a fun day!! I think it is time to take my squirrel into the big bed and have a nice snooze now.

Summer Flowers

Ah, the lazy days of summer. Naps, snacks, relaxing in the sun . . . did I mention naps? I decided I should do something productive though so I decided that I would learn PhotoShop. And who could be a better model than my little brother Dinky? All that Internet shopping has paid off with my computer skills, but Daddy did give me a little help too.

For all you people who think I may be tormenting my baby brother, let me assure you that no Chihuahuas were harmed in the making of this picture (especially not me or Dinky!). The flower was never worn by Dinky -- it is just added in Photoshop. However, if he does not quit trying to steal my squirrel at bedtime, I may reconsider and make him play dress up! (Just kidding, Dinky!!)

Wow, Dinky and I had a great outing a few weeks ago! Mommy and Daddy took us to get our family portrait taken! We got to ride in an elevator too - what fun! Dinky says he's ready for the rides at Six Flags now, but I think the elevator is probably as adventurous as I'm getting.

We were so popular with the photographers and everyone else that was getting their pictures taken. I was exhausted after kissing all my adoring fans. Dinky said next time we should also give autographs :)

It's Almost Summer!

Mommy has finally done a quick update to our pages and gotten our Christmas pictures posted. Dinky and I need to remind her to do this more often!

We're looking forward to summer when we have Mommy home to spoil us! Two more weeks :) Dinky and I have trips planned to PetCo and PetSmart and for special treats, Mommy says she will take us for some ice cream. We love ice cream even though we only get little bitty tastes of it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dinky and I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We are truly thankful for our Mommy and Daddy, for our soft beds, our toys, and having yummy food to eat (even though sometimes we get greedy and think we don't have enough).

Mommy has updated our website with our birthday pictures and she promises to keep our pages more up to date (and take more pictures of us!!) now that she has graduated with her Masters degree (11/21/08) and isn't so busy. Dinky and I got our honorary degree that day too for all our help with holding books open, licking pages, and mostly snuggling Mommy when she took a break. We are very helpful Chihuahuas!

Time for School to Start!

Dinky and I are sorry to see summer coming to an end since we will miss Mommy when she goes back to work. We had lots of extra cuddle and play time with her during the last couple months but now she's getting ready to start teaching again. Dinky has been supervising her packing up books and school supplies to move in to her classroom next week. We're hoping maybe Mommy will smuggle us in one day if we promise to be VERY quiet. (That means NO BARKING Dinky!!). We could teach those kids a thing or two about computers - after all, we know how to shop on the Internet!

We wanted our pictures on the school website since I was sure I'd get to be the mascot, but Mommy said no even though she is the school webmaster. Seems like you could sneak just one little picture of us in there Mommy . . .

The New Site is Up!

Well, it took Mommy a long while but our site is finally updated and it looks SO nice! She completely redid it with a whole new software package so that it really belongs to both Dinky and me. I don't mind sharing the site since Dinky is so cute and I'm proud to say I've helped train him to be the excellent little Chihuahua that he has turned out to be!

You'll notice we're sharing our bed while Mommy works on the site in this picture. We sure loved having Mommy home for Spring Break, but it won't be long until summer vacation is here and we have her around to spoil us all day again. For now, she is back to teaching, but we still have Daddy to spoil us during the day. We require a LOT of attention.

Both Dinky and I hope you will visit our brand new site and look at our recent pictures as well as all the updated pages for new additions to our baby pictures.

Tia & Dinky's Update

Ok, Dinky, do you have the computer on? Are you ready? I will dictate what we want to say now, so pay attention.

Mommy is too busy to update our webpage right now, so she said we were in charge of putting up a new entry on our blog to let our devoted fans know we are okay. She has promised to get our Christmas pictures up during her school break in a few weeks though, so be sure to check back for lots of great pictures of us! She said she will be redoing all the menus too over Spring Break, so our page will look GREAT. (Got all that, Dinky?? GOOD job!)

Dinky and I have been busy too. As Chihuahuas, we have to spend quite a bit of the day napping. I especially like napping in the sun on the new cushions Mommy got us. Dinky isn't using his, so I have TWO. You can see me arranging them just right in the picture. We have to keep Daddy company while Mommy is at work teaching, and then when Mommy gets home we have to help her with her schoolwork. We like to wrap up the day with a nice cuddle and snooze on Mommy. Mommy says it won't be much longer now before she is all done with school since she will get her Masters degree in August. Then she will have time to keep our webpage up to date and play with us more! (Scoot over Dinky and let me read what we've got so far . . . ok, this looks good).

Well, Dinky says his paws are getting tired from all the typing so that's all for now. Watch for our new pictures in a few weeks!

Editor in Training

I'm training my little brother Dinky to help with editing information on my blog. Mommy says if he gets good enough she will let him type her school papers too. This will also keep Dinky too busy to be stealing my squirrel!

Check out our web page - Mommy has our latest pictures up. We're looking forward to our birthdays. Dinky will be a year old on August 22nd and Mommy and I are planning a big Fiesta theme party. Balloons and cupcakes!

Then two weeks after that it is my fourth birthday and I've already seen one of my presents - a LOBSTER tail. Drool . . . I love lobster. Mommy and I are going to share it since it is her birthday too (but she doesn't want to share how old SHE will be).

Dinky and I want to say CONGRATULATIONS to Mommy who graduates Summa Cum Laude from college on Tuesday. Our assistance was critical to her maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. We're already helping her with her Masters classes and know she'll do just as well with those! Nose licks to Mommy -- we're proud of you!!!

All About Sharing!

I'm being such a good girl sharing a popsicle with Dinky. There's nothing better than a nice cold snack on a warm evening here in Texas!

Dinky and I share almost everything. I'm very generous with my toys since I have lots . . . except for my squirrel. Don't touch my squirrel Dinky. He's stolen it a few times and I have had to take it AWAY from him. Dinky shares his toys too. Mommy always gives us each a new one, but we like sharing 'cause that way we have twice as many!

We also share all our beds. Well, not Mommy and Daddy's bed . . . that's just for ME! Chihuahuas take lots of naps. so we have beds in just about every room of the house for convenient napping at a moment's notice. Dinky likes snuggling up and sleeping with me and as long as he lays still I allow this. He's still a baby though and sometimes must be reminded that nap time is sacred. No poking me with the nose during naps and especially no barking at me.

We share Mommy's lap too but I get my choice of spot first since I'm the oldest. Dinky understands this and is usually quite cooperative. We even share our dog food bowl. Mommy says we are good babies when we do that and we like being told we are good! We each get our own dinner bowl though with chicken and rice and carrots . . . yummy. Isn't it almost dinner time Mommy???

Tia & Dinky's Update

Well, Mommy is behind with our blog and our webpage again but we forgive her since we know she is working hard on her schoolwork. I've been training Dinky to take over holding the book open with a paw when I need to take a break and have found him to be a most useful assistant! Now that I've got him trained, he also makes an excellent playmate, except of course when he tries to steal my most prized squirrel. We've also had to have a few discussions about which bed is mine and which bed is Dinky's, but most of the time we share nicely.

We have a busy summer planned. There will need to be a good portion of our day devoted to napping in the sun. We Chihuahuas enjoy our naps. Mommy moves our beds for us so we can stay in the sunshine. And there's still studying to help Mommy with. Even though she graduates in August, she starts school again in September to get something called a Masters degree. We're not sure what she will do with that since WE are Masters of the House but she said we could keep running the place even after she gets that degree. (As if that were open to discussion).

Christmas Time!

In spite of having to play dress up, I had a wonderful Christmas! Mommy has finished my Christmas photo pages, so be sure to take a look. I got a glitzy collar that I look like a little princess in and of course lots of new toys and goodies to eat! I also got this strange new toy that moves and barks that Mommy calls a baby brother. I have sniffed him and let him be on Mommy's lap with me but I'm not quite ready to play with him just yet. Mommy says Dinky will have a webpage too when she gets some extra time but for now there is a link to his pictures from my homepage.

After I opened my Christmas stocking and all my presents from Santa Paws, I had a nice big dinner of roast beef. I love roast beef. Mommy said Dinky was too little for roast beef which was good since that meant more for me! He also likes to dress up, so I'm hoping that may mean less dress up for me.

Summer Update

I was sure Mommy bought this for me, but she said it is hers. We'll see about that since I have the "Rules of Chihuahua" and #3 clearly states that if I want something, it is MINE.

I've had a very busy summer! Mommy finally did a little updating on my pictures but I just want to let all my fans know that I did more than sleep this summer in spite of the theme of the pictures she chose. Now, we all know Chihuahuas need their beauty sleep, and besides, it is very tiring supervising humans.

I've also been keeping very busy helping Mommy with her homework. Sitting in her lap and putting my paw on her book to keep the page open, licking her hand while she types her papers . . . yes, it is a big job. She told me she couldn't get those good grades without me.

When we're not doing homework, I like to perch up on Mommy's shoulder while she watches television. And of course, beg for treats. If I want a little snack, I now have Mommy trained to fetch one for me. She thinks she taught me a new trick to show her where my biscuits are, but I know better. I just lead her out to the kitchen and *poof* I get a biscuit.

Chihuahua Races!

Although I have been a Chihuahua for my entire life, I was not aware that Chihuahuas raced. I do sometimes like to run wildly through the house just to amuse everyone. However, I was amazed when Mommy told me we were going to the 2nd Annual Chihuahua Races at Petco in Richardson, Texas.

Immediately I checked the house thoroughly, just to make sure there were no racing shirts or hats that I was going to have to wear. Fortunately, I didn't find any! Well, I love an outing so this seemed like a fine idea, particularly since I wasn't having to dress up for the occasion. Mommy told me I didn't have to race, just watch the other Chihuahuas. That suited me fine since competitive sports are not my forte.

I couldn't believe all the barking! My goodness, what a bunch of noisy dogs! It was pretty warm outside, even though it was morning, so Mommy carried me. I don't like getting my paws dirty, and besides, it is very hard to see over the crowd when you are as short as I am. We got right up in front and could see all the dogs as they left the starting gate and raced to the other end. I am still not sure why they were racing. Someone mentioned prizes but I just watched and Mommy bought me a new toy anyway!

Watching the races was very tiring. I fell asleep in the car on the way home but was fortunately rested enough by the time we got there to have my lunch!

Catching Up

Mommy is so far behind with my website! She has been very busy with all her classes in school and with work. Fortunately, I have graduated from school and do not have to go anymore. I am particularly glad that I did not have to take Statistics because it seems to be very hard and takes up a lot of Mommy's time. This is time that should be spent playing with me!! However, I do my best to help Mommy with this class by licking the book. I can tell I'm helping because I always get an extra cuddle and kisses for that.

Mommy promises to get new pictures up on my website very soon, so check back! New pictures of me in my role as Mayor of the Street and sleeping in our new Sleep Number bed are coming soon!

Do Chihuahuas Dream?

Of course we do!! Mommy has read a bunch of those technical articles about dogs dreaming (although I don't see what dogs have to do with ME since I do not consider myself a dog). I'll tell you first hand about dreaming though. There's nothing better than a nice snooze and that enjoyment is only enhanced by a few good dreams. There are so many fun things to dream about too!

First there's food, my favorite! In these dreams there's usually lots and lots of people food (my favorite!) and no one saying that it isn't good for me! Big platters of roast beef and cheese and chicken and cookies . . . I'm getting hungry!! Mommy? Can I have a snack??

Ok, back to other dreams. I like to dream about playing too. Mommy says sometimes I whine and move my paws when I sleep, just like I'm chasing a toy! She says sometimes I bark too. I don't know why I bark in my sleep since I almost never bark when I'm awake. There's no need for me to bark since I love all people and if I want something, a nice scratch at Mommy's leg will get her attention -- no need to be loud!

I dream about going lots of places too. Mommy takes me with her a lot of times and I get to see all kinds of people. All that extra petting and attention is very nice!! Mommy says I get to go with her on an airplane in a few months. I don't know what an airplane is, but I'll bet it will be fun!

Welcome to my brand new blog! I'm Tia and I will be your hostest. My executive assistant, a.k.a. Mommy, will be transcribing my thoughts for me so that I can share with the world all the insight I've gathered in my two years of being a chihuahua.

Please feel free to comment, particularly if you are also a chihuahua. Other breeds are welcome to give their input too of course!

My new blog will eventually be replacing my guestbook on my main site because Mommy is spending too much time cleaning off spam postings. I do not understand why people must clutter my guestbook with ads about gambling and various prescription drugs, but Mommy says some people have too much time on their hands. I think they need to get a chihuahua because we take up a lot of time with valuable activities! Since we can keep those posts off here, this will give Mommy more time to play with me!
